Pipeline NorLevo 0.75mg

NorLevo® 0.75mg (Emergency Contraceptive)

NorLevo® is an oral emergency contraceptive, which is taken within 72 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure to prevent unwanted pregnancy. NorLevo® contains only levonorgestrel as an active ingredient. Sosei acquired the exclusive distribution rights for NorLevo® in Japan and Australia from Laboratoire HRA Pharma in 2001. After successfully completed development, Sosei filed NDA to the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Healthcare in September 2009 and was granted the approval in February 2011.
Based on the Distribution Agreement signed between Sosei and Aska Pharmaceutical in November 2009, Aska will be responsible for commercialization of NorLevo® in Japan. NorLevo® was launched on 24 May 2011.

Pipeline NVA237 QVA149 SO-1105

NVA237 (COPD: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

NVA237 is a long acting bronchodilator for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Worldwide, exclusive rights to NVA237 were granted to Novartis in April 2005. Novartis are responsible for the further development and commercialisation of this product. NVA237 has been submitted for approval in Europe and Japan. In addition, Novartis have stated that they intend to launch NVA237 in 2012.

QVA149 (COPD: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

QVA149 is an inhaled fixed dose combination product for the treatment of COPD. The product combines NVA237, the long acting anti-muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), licensed to Novartis, together with Novartis’ long acting beta agonist (LABA), indacaterol, now approved in more than 70 countries, including EU, Japan and the USA. Novartis are responsible for the development and commercialization of this product. Currently, Phase III studies are underway. Novartis expects the first launch of QVA149 in 2013.

SO-1105 (Oropharyngeal Candidiasis)

SO-1105 is an antifungal agent, administered as a muco-adhesive buccal tablet for the treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis in immunocompromised patients. Sosei acquired development and commercialization rights to SO-1105 in Japan from BioAlliance Pharma, in May 2011. SO-1105 has been registered in 26 European countries, in South Korea, and in the United States.
